Despite their growing numbers, many adoptees tell us they feel invisible in Jewish settings and lacking a community of people with similar life experiences. Adoptive parents likewise often report feeling isolated and alone with the unique complexities that come with being a Jewish adoptive family.

One of AJIP’s core goals is to provide support and community for Jewish adoptees and their families. While right now our attention is focused on completing our book on adoption in the Jewish community, after its publication we’ll dive into creating in-person and online groups where adoptees and their families can find companionship, role models, and solidarity.

Do you have ideas for how AJIP can help support adoptees and their families?  We would love to hear your thoughts!  Please contact us at adoptionandjewishidentity@gmail.com.
